Connecting Nigerians in Diaspora.

The Nigerians in the Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) was set up to provide for the engagement of Nigerians in the Diaspora through policies, projects, and participation in the development of Nigeria. In order to further engage Nigerians, we worked with NiDCOM to bring citizens the NiDCOM App.

In addition to providing added value to Nigerian citizens living abroad, the platform needed to be able to gather information about its users, and so assist the NiDCOM agency of the Nigerian government in building a knowledge base on Nigeria's ex-patriot citizens. Recently NiDCOM, pleased with the overview of the web application decided to work with us to move the platform to a mobile app to increase accessibility to citizens living in areas with limited web access.

We created the NiDCOM platform with scalability at its core, ensuring it could evolve alongside user needs and service growth. Designed to serve Nigerians in the Diaspora, the platform enables users to stay connected with current affairs through NiDCOM News, monitor daily FX rates, and compare remittance service providers—all within a single, accessible interface. As engagement grows, the system is built to support future developments, including the integration of a dedicated mobile app.

Looking ahead, the long-term vision is for the Spora platform—an extension of NiDCOM—to become a central hub of digital services for Nigerians living abroad. Initially anchored by NiDCOM’s offerings, the platform is set to expand in future phases to include features such as Company Registration and enhanced Remittance tools, creating a comprehensive ecosystem that supports both individual needs and national engagement from the global Nigerian community.
